Understand why I focus on Bitcoin.

If you hold other crypto assets and want to understand Bitcoin from first principles, we can examine what the systems rely on, who can influence them, and what self-custody means for you.

What intermediary does the blockchain remove?

Bitcoin’s original design set out a way to make electronic payments without a financial institution processing them. That is a useful starting point when examining any blockchain: what can you do without someone else’s permission, and what still depends on another party?

I can walk you through why I focus on Bitcoin, looking at the design and incentives rather than a project’s roadmap or promises.

Questions we can explore

  • What authority do founders, teams, foundations, and insiders retain?
  • Who can change the rules, alter issuance, or restrict use?
  • Could the system keep working if the founding organisation disappeared?
  • Which decisions can users independently accept or reject?
  • What dependencies remain when you hold the asset yourself?

Look at control, not just the label.

When a system depends on a small group’s decisions or continued involvement, that dependence matters to the discussion of third-party risk. We can examine how the project is actually governed and how that compares with Bitcoin.

Having a founder or development team does not, on its own, answer whether a network is decentralised. What matters is the authority they retain and the choices available to other participants.

Connect the fundamentals to your own needs

We can discuss custody, network design, token incentives, and why I take a Bitcoin-only approach. The aim is to help you understand the reasoning and assess the assumptions for yourself.

If you decide to make a change, I can help tailor the practical transition and your self-custody solution, including recovery and inheritance where needed.

Decisions to buy or sell remain yours. Investment, tax, and legal questions belong with appropriately qualified advisers.

Let’s tailor your self-custody solution.
